About Me

Hello! My name is Rindee Ashcraft, and I am a Psychologist. I work with children, teens, and adults in the northwest. I also do psychological assessments. I serve Bellevue, the Eastside, and the Seattle area.

I specialize in working with children and adolescent with various types of anxiety, including those who have experienced trauma (PTSD), those who have trouble with obsessions and compulsions (OCD), and those who just can't seem to stop worrying. I specialize in working with adults who have experienced trauma.

My approach to therapy is to focus on the individual and use a specific type of therapy that works best, most often some form of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).  I tailor the therapy to best suit the individual’s current needs.  I continually reassess my therapy methods and make needed adjustments as the individual grows and heals during the process.

When working with children and families, I find it most effective to work both with the child or adolescent, and with the family as a whole.  Occasional therapy sessions that include all (or as many as possible) of the family are most effective in gaining mutual understanding, empathy, and reconciliation.  By working with both the child and their parent(s) or caregiver(s), I am able to help progress to be attained and sustained.

In addition to individual therapy, I work with the Washington State Psychological Association as chair of the Psychology in the Workplace Network. We honor businesses around the Washington State for the work they do helping their employees stay healthy both physically and emotionally. Look for our nomination process to open at the beginning of 2012.
